Reading Culture Development

Good reading cultures  should be encouraged from ages 5 ,Studies show that kids who read stories books before starting school are likely to  grow up with  excellent   reading culture .Best reading cultures for ages below 10.(with parental guidance)
Visit book store more often and let kids select story book
Set up a small library in your sitting room
   Help in  reading  the books
Ask questions after each book is finished
Subscribe to online kids book and stories
   Visit libraries together
We should   remember that  the school library is a central point  for all kinds of reading  and access to information  therefore teachers and parents  should  encourage students both in  primary and high school to visit libraries and  get to read books since unlike the internet, school libraries select the best  books, books that are up to reading standards of the current school system.
School should as well work on their libraries, back in the 90,most libraries were not up to standards. Nowadays  school have access to the best books, libraries have advanced and therefor schools should work towards  developing their collection.
School library  should  do inter library  exchanges or   visits so as to  expose students to various libraries that exists  and also to be able to identify what may not be available  in your school library and then work towards  having more and more collections.Library lessons should be emphasized so that its registered just like any other subject on the school timetable. As children grow up and move to the next stages of education  studying and  carrying out research will be much easier  thus better innovation and problem solving techniques.
Library development should as well be given a priority since currently we have the best librarians in Kenya.
